July 14, 2025

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A man was assaulted and carjacked early Friday morning while parked at a gas station on Summer Avenue, and police say the suspects were seen hours later at a nearby convenience store.

According to Memphis Police, officers responded to the 2300 block of Summer Avenue around 1:35 a.m. Friday for a reported carjacking. The victim told officers he was sitting beside pump #4 when a male suspect approached the driver’s side, demanded he exit the vehicle, then punched him in the face and forced him out of his 2012 Chevrolet Cruze.

Two other suspects entered the car—one through the front passenger seat, the other through the rear. The suspects fled the scene heading east on Summer Avenue.

Later that morning, around 4:00 a.m., officers observed the stolen vehicle near McLemore and South Third. Two suspects entered a convenience store wearing all black clothing and were identified as participants in the earlier carjacking.

All three suspects were armed with handguns, according to police:

  • Suspect #1: Black male, dark complexion, wearing a black hoodie with white graphic designs, black shorts, and black and white Nike shower shoes.
  • Suspect #2: Black male, wearing a black jacket and black pants.
  • Suspect #3: Black male, wearing a black jacket and black pants.

All suspects remain at large. The investigation is ongoing.
