TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A woman booked into Ocean County Jail this week is facing multiple criminal charges, including aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and throwing bodily fluids at a corrections employee, along with a detainer issued by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Eni Martin DeMelo, also listed in records as Eni M. De Melo, was committed to the jail on Tuesday, June 24. According to inmate data, she is charged under New Jersey criminal code with obstruction of the administration of law, a disorderly persons offense, and two third-degree felonies — aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer and assault involving bodily fluids targeting Department of Corrections personnel.
She was arrested last year on judicial contempt order and released from jail.
