TOMS RIVER, NJ – An illegal migrant man was taken into custody this week on charges stemming from a violent home invasion that left a local neighborhood shaken, according to a criminal records search today.

Alfonso Jimenez-Villanaeva was booked into the Ocean County Jail on Friday and ordered held without bail.

Authorities allege that Jimenez-Villanaeva forcibly entered a residence in violation of New Jersey statute 2C:18-2.1, a second-degree burglary charge classified as a home invasion. Records further list an accompanying charge of criminal mischief under 2C:17-3A(1) for property damage related to the same incident.

Officials also noted a federal detainer issued by U.S. Immigration authorities, suggesting possible immigration-related proceedings following the state case.

Authorities did not say where the incident happened or provide details.

Key details in the case:

  • Alfonso Jimenez-Villanaeva was booked February 7 in Ocean County Jail on burglary and property damage charges.
  • The suspect is held without bail and faces an ICE detainer.
  • The home invasion is being prosecuted under case number W20260001081514.

Further hearings in the case have not yet been scheduled, and Ocean County authorities have declined to release additional details pending the ongoing investigation.
