HARTFORD, Conn. – Connecticut commuters face a slow Friday morning on major highways, with long stretches of congestion and road work piling onto delays.
As of 8:11 a.m., I-95 southbound traffic is crawling in two major sections: between Exits 18 and 11, covering six miles, and further south between Exits 10 and 5, stretching nearly five miles. A separate 2.1-mile jam builds between Exits 27A and 23.
On I-84, drivers heading eastbound see backups in two spots — four miles between Exits 30 and 32 and 3.4 miles between Exits 44 and 52. Westbound, road work between Exits 72 and 64 keeps the right shoulder closed through 3 p.m., slowing traffic over nearly 20 miles.
Delays also stack up on Route 15 southbound, where congestion runs five miles between Exits 17B and 10, and another 2.2 miles between Exits 32A and 29.
