Lucky $1 million winner bought ticket in Odenton while massive jackpot keeps growing
ODENTON, Md. — A Maryland Powerball player is waking up $1 million richer after buying a winning ticket at a Royal Farms in Anne Arundel County, while the game’s jackpot continues its climb to an estimated $707 million.
The Maryland Lottery announced the $1 million-winning ticket was sold for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing at the Royal Farms located at 1558 Annapolis Road in Odenton.
The winning ticket matched the first five numbers drawn — 30, 36, 40, 42 and 57 — but did not match the Powerball number, 2, missing the jackpot.
Lottery officials said the winner has 182 days from the drawing date to claim the $1 million prize.
No ticket matched all six numbers to win Wednesday night’s jackpot, pushing the estimated jackpot for Saturday’s drawing to $707 million, with a cash option estimated at $309.7 million.
According to the Maryland Lottery, the Odenton prize is the largest Powerball win in the state during the current jackpot run, which began after the jackpot was last won on May 2.
Lottery officials also said three $50,000-winning Powerball tickets sold in Maryland remain unclaimed. Those tickets were purchased at Greenway Liquors in Greenbelt on July 15, Walmart in North East on July 18, and Wawa in Annapolis on July 18.
