NEW JERSEY — Monday morning commuters are facing delays across several major roadways due to crashes, disabled vehicles, and heavy traffic.
A disabled truck is blocking the center lane on I-287 northbound near Exit 1 in Edison Township. A separate incident on the George Washington Bridge upper level westbound has a disabled tractor-trailer blocking the right lane mid-span.
Crashes are affecting multiple highways, including the Garden State Parkway southbound at Exit 135 in Clark Township, where the left lane and shoulder are blocked, and I-280 westbound at Exit 14E in Newark, where the left lane is closed. Another crash on the New Jersey Turnpike – Hudson County Extension in Bayonne has vehicles on the right shoulder.
Traffic congestion is building on key routes, with delays on the Pulaski Skyway northbound in Jersey City, US 1&9 northbound in Fort Lee, and NJ 4 eastbound approaching the George Washington Bridge. Travel times at the Lincoln Tunnel remain high at 25 minutes from the New Jersey Turnpike Exit 16E, while the George Washington Bridge eastbound is seeing 30-minute delays.
Drivers are advised to expect slow-moving traffic and plan for extended travel times on major roadways.
