Montgomery County police investigating two Fairland shootings, one fatal

GAITHERSBURG, MD – Detectives are investigating two shootings that occurred Wednesday night in the Fairland neighborhood, one of which left a 20-year-old man dead.

The first incident was reported around 7:54 p.m. when officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Robey Terrace for a shooting victim.

The second scene was discovered about an hour later when officers conducting a search found a man fatally shot nearby.

Two incidents reported less than two hours apart

According to Montgomery County Police, the first victim, an adult male, told officers he was shot near Aston Manor Drive before running to Robey Terrace to call for help. He was taken to a hospital alert and conscious.

At approximately 9:06 p.m., officers searching the surrounding area located the body of Jadyn Mekhi Brown in the 13800 block of Aston Manor Drive. Brown had apparent gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives seeking public assistance

The Montgomery County Department of Police Major Crimes Division is investigating both cases. Authorities said it is too early to determine whether the two incidents are related.

Brown’s body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy. No suspects have been arrested, and police have not released information on potential motives.
