GREENBELT, Md. — Residents were startled by a burst of gunfire around midnight near the 150 block of Westway, prompting a police investigation after multiple callers reported hearing shots.

According to the Greenbelt Police Department, officers responded after receiving several reports of gunfire in the area.

Police said the incident is being investigated as a non-contact shooting.

Investigators have not located any victims and have received no reports that anyone was struck by gunfire.

Detectives are working to determine what happened and who was responsible.
