New Jersey Morning Commuter Report: Crash at GSP Exit 82 Causing Delays

TRENTON, N.J. — New Jersey commuters faced several disruptions this morning with multiple traffic incidents and delays reported across key roadways.

As of 8:19 a.m., a disabled bus blocked the left lane of the Lincoln Tunnel’s north tunnel westbound, causing slowdowns for drivers heading into the city.

In Ocean County, a crash and vehicle off the roadway on the Garden State Parkway northbound entrance ramp at Exit 82 (NJ 37 East) in Toms River Township added to commuter challenges.

Drivers on I-80 westbound experienced minor delays between Exit 47A (I-280) and Exit 45 (CR 637/Beverwyck Road) in Parsippany-Troy Hills Township, though travel time remained under five minutes.

The Garden State Parkway saw heavier congestion northbound from south of Exit 143 (NJ 124) in Irvington Township to south of Exit 145 (I-280) in East Orange, resulting in a 2.5-mile delay due to typical morning volume. Southbound, traffic was slow from south of Exit 149 (CR 506) in Bloomfield to north of Exit 147 (Clinton Avenue) in East Orange, with a 1.5-mile delay.

Additional delays were reported on I-280 westbound from the Stickel Drawbridge in Harrison to Exit 15 (NJ 21) in Newark, causing 5–10-minute slowdowns.

NJ 208 southbound drivers faced 5–10-minute delays from north of Goffle Road in Hawthorne to north of Maple Avenue in Glen Rock. Meanwhile, NJ 21 northbound had minor congestion from Exit 12 (Dayton Street) to Exit 14 (US 46) in Clifton.

The Pulaski Skyway northbound was also congested from South Kearny to Tonnelle Circle in Jersey City, with travel times between 5–10 minutes.

Delays on NJ 139 Lower eastbound extended from Tonnelle Avenue to Jersey Avenue in Jersey City, and NJ 24 westbound saw minor slowdowns from I-287 to Columbia Turnpike in Hanover Township.

Commuters are advised to plan accordingly as delays persist across several major routes.

Morning traffic troubles slow New Jersey commuters amid multiple incidents and heavy volume.
