TRENTON, NJ — A New York man is facing multiple drug charges after New Jersey State Police allegedly discovered 100 kilograms of cocaine and THC products during a vehicle search, state officials announced Tuesday.

Miguel Ortiz, 34, of the Bronx, was arrested following an investigation into a silver Honda Odyssey suspected of transporting narcotics through New Jersey. A search warrant executed by law enforcement uncovered over 200 pounds of suspected cocaine along with numerous THC vape cartridges and edibles.

Ortiz has been charged with first-degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, third-degree possession of cocaine, second-degree possession with intent to distribute THC products, and fourth-degree possession of THC products.

The case is being prosecuted by the New Jersey Division of Criminal Justice, with the New Jersey State Police leading the investigation.

If convicted on the first-degree charge alone, Ortiz faces a sentence of 10 to 20 years in state prison and a fine of up to $200,000. Additional charges carry penalties ranging from 18 months to 10 years in prison.

The charges remain accusations, and Ortiz is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
