New York Morning Crash Report: Multiple Incidents Slow Traffic Along Major Highways

NEW YORK, N.Y. — New York commuters faced numerous traffic disruptions Friday morning due to a series of crashes, disabled vehicles, and lane closures on several major roadways across the state.

At 8:27 a.m., a crash on I-278 westbound at 60th Street blocked the center lane, causing localized delays in Brooklyn. Earlier, at 8:20 a.m., a crash on I-495 westbound at Exit 40W (Jericho Turnpike/NY 25) in Jericho resulted in three right lanes being shut down.

In Westchester County, NY 22 northbound saw a crash at Freedom Road in North Castle at 8:19 a.m., with the right shoulder blocked. Meanwhile, a misplaced commercial vehicle on the Hutchinson River Parkway northbound at Exit 15A/B in Harrison blocked the left shoulder.

Upstate, Albany-area drivers encountered multiple issues. A disabled vehicle on US 20 westbound near the Dunn Memorial Bridge at 8:17 a.m. closed the left lane heading toward the Empire State Plaza. Another disabled vehicle was reported at 7:51 a.m. on I-90 westbound before Exit 5A (Corporate Woods Boulevard), with the right shoulder closed.

Widespread delays reported statewide
