Newark Police announce Halloween events across city precincts

NEWARK, N.J. – The Newark Police Division is inviting families and residents to join in a series of community Halloween celebrations hosted by precincts throughout the city next week.

The events, featuring costumes, candy, and family-friendly fun, are scheduled for Thursday, October 30 and Friday, October 31, and are free to the public.

Trick-or-treat fun by precinct

The 2nd Precinct will hold a Halloween Block Event from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 31, at Montclair Avenue and Summer Avenue.

The 4th Precinct will host its Annual Trunk or Treat from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. the same day at West Side Park.

The 5th Precinct will present its Annual Haunted Precinct Event from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, October 31, at 480 Clinton Avenue.

The 7th Precinct will kick off the celebrations a day earlier with its Annual Trunk or Treat from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, October 30, at Roseville Presbyterian Church, 36 Roseville Avenue.

City officials said the events are part of Newark’s ongoing effort to promote safe and engaging spaces for children to enjoy Halloween while strengthening relationships between police and the community.
