NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect caught on surveillance video stealing a package from a building on Orchard Street last month, the Newark Department of Public Safety announced Tuesday.

The theft occurred on November 25, 2024, at approximately 12:56 p.m., in the 50 block of Orchard Street. Surveillance footage captured an individual taking the package and leaving the area.

Public Safety Director Emmanuel Miranda, Sr. is encouraging anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about their identity to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All tips will remain confidential, and information leading to the suspect’s identification could result in a reward.

Investigators continue to review evidence and are urging community members to come forward with any relevant details.
