Newark police seek two suspects after gunfire on South 10th Street

Newark, NJ – Police are asking for the public’s help identifying two individuals wanted in connection with a shooting incident detected earlier this month, according to the Newark Department of Public Safety. The gunfire was reported at approximately 8:19 p.m. on March 11 in the 400 block of South 10th Street.

Responding officers canvassed the area after the ShotSpotter system alerted authorities to multiple gunshots. During their investigation, police located seven shell casings in the rear of a parking lot along South 10th Street.

No injuries were reported in connection with the shooting, and police have not released further details about a possible motive.

Police release images, request public assistance

Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr. is urging residents to assist investigators by identifying the two males connected to the case. Their images were released as part of the investigation.

Officials are asking anyone with information to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS. Tips can be submitted anonymously and may be eligible for a reward.
