NEWARK, N.J. — NJ Transit rail service is operating on or close to schedule Tuesday following earlier congestion caused by a disabled train, the agency announced.

Residual delays continue to affect some trains already en route into and out of New York Penn Station, but service has largely stabilized.

“Following earlier congestion resulting from a disabled train, NJ TRANSIT rail service is operating on or close to schedule with residual delays,” the agency posted on X.

The earlier disruption caused temporary backups on multiple lines, but no further issues have been reported.

Crews responded to the disabled train earlier in the day and cleared the affected track to restore full service.

Commuters are advised to check for real-time updates on NJ Transit’s website and social media channels.
