Police are asking for the public's help identifying two individuals wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old inside a Brooklyn building.

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals wanted in connection with a homicide that left a 17-year-old male dead inside a building on New Lots Avenue in Brooklyn.

According to the NYPD, officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at approximately 8:23 p.m. Wednesday at 514 New Lots Avenue, within the department’s 75th Precinct. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigation underway

Police said the teenager died from his injuries after officers arrived. Authorities have not released his identity, and investigators have not disclosed what led to the fatal shooting.

Detectives have released images of two individuals wanted in connection with the homicide investigation. The NYPD is asking anyone who recognizes them or has information about the case to contact investigators.

Public asked to come forward

In its public appeal, the department said it is “asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the two individuals depicted in the attached media, wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred within the confines of the 75 Precinct in Brooklyn.”
