Ocean County case ends with guilty plea over illegal video

Brick Township man pleads guilty in child sexual abuse material case

Brick Township, NJ — A Brick Township man has pleaded guilty to possession of child sexual abuse material following a digital forensic investigation conducted by county prosecutors and local police, officials announced.

Marc Fay, 42, entered the guilty plea Tuesday in Ocean County Superior Court before Judge Linda Baxter. Prosecutors said they will seek a five-year term of probation at sentencing, along with conditions barring Fay from unsupervised contact with minors and prohibiting internet access. Sentencing is scheduled for March 27.

The case stems from an investigation led by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crime Squad with assistance from the Brick Township Police Department Detective Bureau. During the investigation, a forensic examination of Fay’s cellular phone uncovered a video depicting child sexual abuse material.

Fay was formally charged on October 16 and later surrendered to Brick Township police. He was transported to the Ocean County Jail and subsequently released under New Jersey Bail Reform guidelines while the case proceeded.

Prosecutors credited the work of the High Tech Crime Squad and Brick Township detectives for identifying and advancing the case, which resulted in the guilty plea.
