Ocean County player scores $3M in Mega Millions win

Ocean County player hits $3 million Mega Millions win with new multiplier

TRENTON, N.J. – A Mega Millions ticket sold through the Jackpocket app turned into a $3 million payday for one Ocean County player after matching five white balls in Tuesday night’s drawing, New Jersey Lottery officials announced.

The ticket matched the numbers 17, 26, 33, 45, and 56, missing only the Gold Mega Ball, which was 19. The player’s $1 million prize tripled thanks to the game’s new X3 multiplier feature.

Key Points

  • Ocean County player wins $3 million using Jackpocket app
  • Ticket matched five white balls, missing only the Gold Mega Ball
  • Multiplier tripled the $1 million prize under new Mega Millions rules

Multiplier boosts winnings

The multiplier was added to Mega Millions in April, allowing players to multiply non-jackpot prizes at no additional cost. Tuesday’s winner is the second New Jersey player to benefit from the rule change this year—following a Bergen County player who saw a $1 million prize jump to $4 million in June.

Jackpot continues to climb

No ticket matched all six numbers, sending the Mega Millions jackpot to $575 million for Friday’s drawing.

Lottery officials urged players to check their tickets and play responsibly.
