SEASIDE HEIGHTS-A day after beaches in Seaside Heights were closed for high bacterial counts, suspected to have been caused by Monday’s rainwater runoff, the New Jersey Department of Health said the water is safe for swimming today.
On Wednesday, testing found colony forming bacteria levels at 130 parts per 100 milliliter. Today, that level is back down to 10 parts per 100 milliliter.
Today, Borough Administrator Christopher Vaz told visitors coming to the beach today that they will receive a bonus.
“Are you visiting the Seaside Heights Beach today Friday August 17th? 300 guests who pay for a daily wristband ($8), senior season beach badge ($10), or regular season beach badge ($60) will receive a coupon for a FREE daily wristband redeemable on a different operating day,” Vaz posted. “Coupons must be used in 2018 and expire after Labor Day. To participate in this promotion and receive a coupon, guests must purchase their beach pass at the Beach Control sales booth on the boardwalk at Blaine Avenue (located on the north side of the Visitor Center). This promotion is limited to the first 300 guests at the Blaine Avenue sales location only.”
