Ohio woman snags $1 million jackpot from scratch-off

Parma Heights woman hits $1 million jackpot on VIP Millions scratch-off

PARMA HEIGHTS, OH — A woman in Parma Heights struck it rich this week after purchasing a VIP Millions scratch-off ticket worth $1 million at a local beverage and deli store.

The winner, who has not been publicly identified, chose the cash option for her prize, receiving $500,000 before taxes. After state and federal withholdings, she will take home approximately $360,000.

She bought the $50 VIP Millions ticket at Parma Heights Beverage and Deli, located at 6660 Pearl Road. The game, which offers a top prize of $40,000 a year for 25 years, still has 29 top prizes remaining as of August 29, according to the Ohio Lottery.

VIP Millions is among the highest-value scratch-off games offered by the Ohio Lottery. It’s part of a series of premium instant-win tickets that offer life-changing prizes for players willing to take the $50 gamble.

Since its founding, the Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to public education across the state. Proceeds from all lottery games, including VIP Millions, help support K-12 education initiatives in Ohio.
