Manchester, NJ – A Snapchat post alleging vague school threats led to a police investigation in Manchester Township on Tuesday at 8:06 PM. The Manchester Township Police Department was alerted to the post circulating within the community, prompting an immediate inquiry.

The investigation revealed that the post did not target Manchester Township Schools. Authorities determined that the original content had been generated by an individual out of state with no association with local schools. The post was reshared multiple times until a concerned Manchester Township student reposted it.

The police informed the out-of-state agency where the suspect resides, and law enforcement took action there. In cooperation with the Manchester Township School District, communication about the investigation’s results occurred late Tuesday evening.

The School District sent an email to parents on Wednesday to affirm that there were no credible threats to the schools. Manchester Township Police urge the community not to share social media posts alleging school threats and to report such concerns directly to the police. They note a nationwide trend of vague, unsubstantiated threats on platforms like TikTok and Snapchat.
