GOSHEN, NY — Jesse Boniface, 52, of Middletown, was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison and 20 years of post-release supervision after being convicted of first-degree rape and related charges in Orange County Court.

The sentence, delivered by Judge Craig Brown, follows Boniface’s conviction at trial for a November 17, 2023, incident in which he engaged in sexual intercourse and oral sexual conduct by forcible compulsion with another person in the Town of Crawford.

The case was investigated by the Town of Crawford Police Department, with assistance from the New York State Police, including forensic analysis. Boniface was arrested shortly after the incident was reported.

Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler praised the outcome, stating, “The only sentence appropriate in this case was the one imposed, which is the maximum available under the law.” Hoovler commended the victim for their courage and reiterated his office’s commitment to prosecuting violent sexual offenders.

Senior Assistant District Attorney Michael Purcell and Assistant District Attorney Ralph Deluca led the prosecution.

Boniface’s conviction ensures he will serve the maximum sentence allowed under state law for the crime.
