Philadelphia Police Seek Public Help in Ridge Avenue Carjacking

Philadelphia, PA – Police in Philadelphia are searching for a trio of carjacking suspects today.

The Central Detective Division, along with the Major Crimes Carjacking Task Force, is requesting assistance from the public to identify suspects in a carjacking incident. Two males, aged 58 and 31, were victimized on Monday at around 2:30 PM at the Conoco Gas Station on 1840 Ridge Avenue.

The incident occurred when a white Acura MDX and a black Cadillac arrived at the gas station, parking next to the pumps. As one victim walked back to his car, a suspect exited the Acura MDX, armed with a gray and black handgun, and demanded the car keys. The suspect then drove off in the victim’s car, heading west on Ridge Avenue, followed by the Acura MDX.

The stolen vehicle was later located, unattended, on the 1900 block of North 23rd Street. Missing from the car were two bags with approximately $20,000 and the victim’s wallet, containing identification and bank cards. Police have provided a video clip not from the date of the robbery which can be accessed on the Philadelphia Police YouTube Channel or phillypolice.com/news.
