Tinton Falls, NJ – A stretch of Pine Brook Road in Tinton Falls was closed early Monday morning after utility poles were knocked down in the area, according to the Tinton Falls Police Department.

The closure began around 6:30 a.m. and affects Pine Brook Road between Hope Road and Park Road.

Road closure expected to last most of the day

Police said the roadway could remain closed for approximately 8 to 12 hours while crews work to repair the damaged utility poles.

Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while repairs are underway.

Officials did not immediately release what caused the utility poles to fall.

School schedules impacted

The road closure also affected the morning schedule for Monmouth Regional High School.

School officials announced the high school will operate on a 90-minute delay Monday.

Other nearby schools, including Atchison School, Swimming River School, and Tinton Falls Middle School, are operating on their normal schedules.
