Police Say Attack on Woman in Greenwich Village Motivated by Anti LGBT Hate

New York, NY — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help to identify and locate an individual connected to an Aggravated Harassment-Hate Crime that occurred in the 6 Precinct.

The incident took place on Monday morning while a 52-year-old female victim was jogging in Hudson River Park near 353 West Street. An unknown individual approached her, making an anti-LGBTQ remark before striking her face, causing her to fall. The victim sustained minor lacerations to her face, right knee, and left hand.

The suspect is described as a male with a light complexion, approximately 30 years old, 6’2″ in height, and weighing around 210 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt, gray shorts, and gray sneakers, and fled the location on foot heading north on West Street.
