Police search wooded area in odenton for missing person

ODENTON, MD – Anne Arundel County Police officers are conducting an active search in the Piney Orchard community to locate a missing individual reported from another jurisdiction. The operation is focused around Sandy Walk Way and the wooded area near the Piney Orchard Nature Preserve.

Authorities said multiple units are on scene, and all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) are being deployed to assist in the search through dense terrain surrounding the residential neighborhood. Police have not yet released the missing person’s identity or details of the originating jurisdiction.

Residents in the area have been advised that the increased police presence and off-road vehicle activity are part of the coordinated search effort. Officials did not indicate any threat to public safety but asked community members to avoid the wooded area while the operation is underway.

The Anne Arundel County Police Department said updates will be provided as the search progresses.
