September 30, 2024

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault on September 15, 2024, in the 9th District.

At approximately 9:45 a.m., two female victims were walking on the 2000 block of Benjamin Franklin Parkway when the suspect tackled one of the women to the ground and punched her multiple times in the face and body. The second woman intervened, but she was also pushed to the ground. A Good Samaritan then stepped in, prompting the suspect to flee on foot toward Race Street via 20th Street.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6’3″ tall with a thin build. He was wearing sunglasses, a black tank top, black pants, and tan shoes, and was carrying a green bag and a black backpack.

Authorities have released video footage and a still image of the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Central Detective Division.
