WHEATON, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division are investigating the November 19 armed robbery of a bank in the 2600 block of University Blvd. West in Wheaton. Detectives have released surveillance photos of the male suspect and asking for the public’s assistance in identifying him.

On November 19, at approximately 11:33 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed bank robbery that just occurred.

The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect entered the bank and requested to speak with the manager. The suspect spoke with the manager, produced a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then fired one round onto the floor of the bank. The manager went behind the teller counter, gathered the money and handed it over to the suspect who fired another round onto a wall before fleeing the scene. During this incident, no one was injured.

Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage of the bank and obtained surveillance photographs of the suspect.
