Queens teen fatally shot inside Jamaica home identified as Jonathan Adams

QUEENS, NY – An 18-year-old man was shot and killed inside a Jamaica residence Thursday morning, prompting a homicide investigation by the NYPD.

Jonathan Adams, of 131-72 228 Street in Queens, was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head inside 172-09 108 Avenue just after 10:45 a.m.

He was rushed by EMS to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigation continues in Jamaica shooting

Detectives from the 103rd Precinct are continuing to canvass the area for witnesses and surveillance footage in an effort to identify the gunman. Police sources said the shooter fled the scene before officers arrived.

Neighbors reported hearing a single gunshot before emergency responders converged on the block. Investigators have not yet released a motive.
