Quinn, Crea to face a primary election challenge

TOMS RIVER, NJ – For the first time in a long time, the Ocean County GOP is being challenged at the county commissioner level. Incumbent Republican Gary Quinn, most recently in the news for refusing Sheriff Michael Mastronardy’s request for a blue line to honor police officers and his running mate, Bobbi Joe Crea will have two challengers in the June primary election.

Ocean County Republicans Michael Thulen of Brick and Kenneth Seda of Whiting are both running against Quinn and Crea, but possibly not on the same ticket as of now.

Seda is a financial consultant who operates a business in Toms River. Thulen is a project manager at DCO Energy.

Crea is a 72-year-old former mayor of Little Egg Harbor and Quinn is a former Lacey Township Committeeman.

Whoever wins the primary election will face Democrats Philip Nufrio and Rita Kopacz in November.
