Route 35 traffic stop ends in late-night DWI sweep across Wall Township

Two drivers pulled within hours as patrol units target impaired motorists on major Monmouth County highways

Wall Township, NJ – Monday, May 25, 2026 – A pair of late-night traffic stops on State Highway 35 and State Highway 34 resulted in two separate driving while intoxicated arrests within hours of each other as officers continued overnight patrol enforcement across Monmouth County’s busiest roadways.

The first stop occurred at 8:48 PM on Route 35, where Patrolman Jared Conte pulled over a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Nicholas Giannini of New York. During the stop, officers determined impairment was a factor, leading to his arrest for driving while intoxicated. Giannini was transported to police headquarters for processing and later released under John’s Law, which requires notification of a sober adult upon release in certain DWI cases.

Just a few hours later, at 11:44 PM, Patrolman Joseph Liddy conducted another stop on State Highway 34 involving 40-year-old Jeffrey Alcivar of Carlstadt. Similar observations led to a second DWI arrest of the night. Alcivar was also processed and released under John’s Law following standard procedures.

No crashes or injuries were reported in either incident.
