SALISBURY, Md. — Authorities arrested a Salisbury woman in connection with a November shooting that left a female victim hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office announced on Monday.
Briana Monique Bratten, 27, was taken into custody on December 9 and charged with attempted first-degree murder and related conspiracy and accessory charges, stemming from a November 16 incident in the 500 block of North Curlew Road. The shooting occurred at approximately 4:20 p.m., when deputies responded to reports of gunfire and found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders transported the victim to Tidal Health, where she remains in stable condition.
Authorities say they are still searching for a second suspect, identified as 32-year-old Dequan Maurice Bratten, also of Salisbury. Investigators believe he was directly involved in the shooting, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Detectives are also working to identify others who may have aided or supported him during the commission of the crime.
The sheriff’s office is urging the public to assist in locating Dequan Bratten. Residents with information are asked to contact the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office directly or submit tips through Crime Solvers or the department’s app and website.
“The investigation remains active and ongoing,” the sheriff’s office stated, as detectives continue to pursue leads related to the case.
