Fatal Shooting Under Investigation in Jersey City
**Jersey City, NJ** – The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit, alongside the Jersey City Police Department, is conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting that took place on Friday, January 3. Authorities responded to the incident soon after it was reported.
The shooting was reported shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the area of Lembeck Avenue and Old Bergen Road. Officers found a male victim, identified as 20-year-old Rahmiere Morris from Jersey City, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the torso. Morris was taken to Jersey City Medical Center and was pronounced dead at approximately 9:35 p.m. The cause and manner of death are pending a report from the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

**West New York, NJ** – Officers from the West New York Police Department responded to an incident on November 19, at 10:45 PM. A man was reported attempting to lure an 11-year-old girl into a vehicle near 61st Street and Kennedy Boulevard in West New York. The girl was unharmed during the event.
A swift investigation led to the arrest of Guy R. McCann II, a 29-year-old from North Bergen. He faces charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Attempting to Lure or Entice a Child. McCann is currently detained in the Hudson County Jail, with charges still requiring legal determination of guilt.
