Frankford, DE – Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Frankford on Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday at around 1:00 p.m., troopers responded to a call of a shooting in the 28000 block of Gum Tree Road in Frankford. Upon arrival, they discovered a 41-year-old male victim who had been shot and subsequently taken to the Frankford Fire Company. The victim was later transported to a nearby hospital and is reported to be in critical condition.

Preliminary findings indicate that an argument between the victim and a black male suspect at a residence led to the shooting. The suspect fled the scene following the incident.

The Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit is continuing the investigation. Detective R. Mitchell can be contacted at 302-752-3794 for any information related to the case. Alternatively, details can also be shared via a private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
