Six-week manhunt ends with arrest of Baltimore shooting suspect in York

BALTIMORE, MD — A 45-year-old man accused of a shooting in Baltimore’s Eastern District in late October has been arrested in York, Pennsylvania, after an extensive investigation, authorities announced Thursday.

Travis Cothran, of Baltimore, was taken into custody around 7 a.m. on December 5 at a residence in York. Police allege Cothran shot a 35-year-old man in the leg on October 29 in the 1800 block of North Collington Avenue.

The victim was transported to a local hospital following the incident and was listed in stable condition, according to the initial police advisory.

Cothran is currently being held at York County Prison as he awaits extradition to Baltimore City, where he faces charges of attempted first-degree murder.

Investigators have not released additional details about the events leading up to the shooting or the arrest.
