Small dog overwhelmed in Jackson shelter needs rescue

Urgent plea to save shelter dog Greg as rescue search intensifies

Ocean County, NJ — A small dog described as overwhelmed and in need of specialized care is at the center of an urgent call for rescue placement as shelter staff work to find him a safe exit.

Greg, an approximately 5-year-old poodle-bichon mix, arrived at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility as a stray and is now being described as nervous and sensitive to touch, according to officials.

Staff say Greg shows mild guarding behavior and prefers to approach people on his own terms. While adjusting to the shelter environment, he has appeared confused and stressed.

Despite his anxiety, Greg has been observed as dog-friendly and showed little reaction to cats during evaluations.
