Suspects on the run after attempted robbery turns violent in d. C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Two victims were assaulted during a failed robbery attempt in Northwest D.C. after being confronted by suspects armed with a knife on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:05 p.m. in the 800 block of L Street, Northwest, when the suspects demanded property from the victims. According to police, the victims were attacked after refusing to comply, though the suspects fled the scene without taking anything.

Nearby surveillance cameras captured images of the suspects, who remain at large. Police are urging the public to review the footage and report any information that could help identify the individuals.

The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the assault. Tips can be submitted by phone or via the department’s anonymous text tip line.

This assault adds to a string of violent crimes in the District, highlighting ongoing public safety concerns in busy city neighborhoods.
