ICE Detains Mexican National Linked to Fatal Accident

**DALLAS, TX** – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested Ramiro Guevara, a 46-year-old Mexican national, on Sunday. Guevara had been involved in a 2014 vehicle accident that resulted in the death of a 13-year-old girl. At the time of the accident, Guevara was already wanted for driving without a license. He was neither charged for the minor’s death nor did he serve time in jail.

ICE Homeland Security Investigations in Dallas, led by Special Agent in Charge Travis Pickard, highlighted that this arrest underscores efforts to locate individuals who threaten public safety and hold them accountable. According to ICE, it remains committed to enforcing U.S. immigration laws through special agents and collaboration with law enforcement partners.

Guevara previously faced an outstanding order of deportation for being in the U.S. without proper admission or parole. In 2016, he petitioned for relief from removal which was denied by an immigration judge in July 2017. Subsequently, he was ordered to be removed in August 2017 but did not appeal within the 30-day timeframe he was given.

Currently, Guevara is in ICE custody
