Suspect in Newark Pharmacy Burglary Arrested, Others At Large
**Newark, DE** – The Delaware State Police have arrested Janine McAlonan, 39, from Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, in connection with a burglary at a Newark area pharmacy. Two accomplices, Christopher Welch, 42, and another unidentified individual, remain at large.
Troopers responded to a burglary report on October 26 at approximately 3:00 a.m. at Saveway Compound Pharmacy on Albe Drive. Two suspects forcibly entered the pharmacy, stealing a safe containing cash and controlled substances worth several thousand dollars, which they placed into a dark-colored SUV provided by an unidentified driver who fled the scene.
Investigations, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, identified Welch and McAlonan as suspects in this and similar incidents in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Warrants for burglary and related charges have been issued, though the third suspect remains unidentified without a description available.
On Monday, McAlonan surrendered to police at Troop 1, facing multiple felony charges including burglary and theft, and was released on an $11,000 unsecured bond after arraignment. Welch is still wanted, with the Delaware State Police urging those with information on his
