Teaneck Police Highlight Free Narcan Program, Addiction Resources at Community Event

Teaneck police joined addiction recovery advocates at Votee Park to raise awareness of free Narcan access and support services available throughout Bergen County.

Teaneck, NJ – The Teaneck Police Department partnered with the Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources during a community event at Votee Park to promote addiction recovery services and expand awareness of free overdose prevention resources.

The department’s Community Policing Unit participated in the outreach event to support the nonprofit organization’s mission of connecting individuals and families with addiction treatment, education, and recovery support.

Among the programs highlighted was the Buster Box initiative, which provides free, around-the-clock access to Narcan (naloxone) at locations throughout Bergen County, including libraries, fire departments, and participating local businesses.

Narcan is a medication that can rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose and is widely distributed as part of overdose prevention efforts.

“Watching someone you love struggle with addiction is not something that you need to go through alone,” the Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources said. “With the help of their recovery support team, you will be connected to someone who understands the challenges you face.”

Support available 24 hours a day

The Teaneck Police Department thanked the organization for its ongoing work supporting residents affected by addiction and encouraged anyone seeking help to use the available community resources.

The Bergen County 24/7 Addiction Support Hotline can be reached at 201-589-2976. Additional information is available through the Center for Alcohol and Drug Resources at cafsnj.org and Bergen County’s opioid prevention website, stoptheods.org.
