Teen Found Murdered In New Brunswick Park – Two Arrested

New Brunswick, NJ – An 18-year-old man was found shot to death late Tuesday night inside Pine Street Park, sparking a homicide investigation that has now led to two arrests.

Police say the victim, identified as Fernando Buezo Diaz of New Brunswick, was discovered around 11:30 p.m. after officers responded to a call reporting an unconscious male.

He was pronounced dead at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds.

Detectives determined that a fight broke out in the park before the shooting occurred. During the confrontation, authorities say 20-year-old Jalen Terrell-Ingram of New Brunswick was in possession of a firearm.

Two suspects charged

Following the investigation by Detective Victor Delgado of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective Stephanie Redline of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, charges were filed against Terrell-Ingram on October 10.

He faces counts of first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon. Terrell-Ingram later surrendered to police on October 13.

Juvenile taken into custody

A 17-year-old male from North Brunswick was arrested two days later and charged with acts of juvenile delinquency. Prosecutors say the offenses, if committed by an adult, would include murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and multiple weapons violations.

Investigation continues

Officials have not disclosed what sparked the altercation or whether additional suspects are being sought. Detectives are continuing to review evidence and ask anyone with information or surveillance footage from the area to contact authorities.

Anyone with tips is urged to call Detective Victor Delgado at 732-745-5200 or Detective Stephanie Redline at 732-745-3316.
