Bronx, NY – A 14-year-old boy was robbed at knifepoint aboard a BX9 bus and then followed off the vehicle where one of three suspects forcibly took his property, according to the NYPD Crime Stoppers.
The robbery happened around 5:07 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, near West 231st Street and Broadway within the 50th Precinct, police said, with the suspects surrounding the teen before displaying a knife and demanding his belongings.
Robbery continued after victim exited bus
Authorities said the situation escalated after the victim got off the westbound MTA bus, when the same group followed him onto the street.
One of the suspects then reached into the teen’s pants pocket and removed his property by force before all three fled on foot westbound along West 231st Street toward Kingsbridge Avenue, according to the NYPD.
Police did not release descriptions of the suspects in the alert.
