JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – A teenage girl from Jackson remains in critical condition after she was struck by a school bus while riding an electric bicycle Sunday morning.
The collision happened at the intersection of County Line Road and Hope Chapel Road, authorities said.
Emergency responders from Lakewood rushed to the scene and provided aid to the girl before she was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center with a severe head injury. The bus was traveling westbound from Lakewood when the crash occurred.
There are no sidewalks on that part of the roadway with a narrow shoulder.
Police have identified the victim only as “Angie,” describing her as a local teenager who was riding a small electric scooter or e-bike when she was hit.

Crash investigation closes busy intersection
Following the crash, County Line Road eastbound was shut down for several hours as police and crash investigators reconstructed the scene. Officers documented evidence, marked debris patterns, and interviewed witnesses in an effort to determine how the collision occurred.
Officials have not released details on the bus driver or whether any passengers were on board at the time. No other injuries were reported.
Community rallies as teen remains on life support
Family members said Angie remains on life support and in critical condition as of late Sunday. Friends and neighbors have gathered in support, offering prayers and assistance to the family.
The Jackson Police Department, along with Ocean County investigators, continues to examine video footage from nearby surveillance cameras and dashcams to piece together the moments leading up to the crash.
Authorities have not yet filed any charges as the investigation remains active.
