SEVERN, MD — An assault investigation in Severn on April 14 led to the arrest of three suspects, including one adult, after an armed confrontation involving stolen property escalated into a police pursuit and vehicle crash.

At approximately 2:55 p.m., officers responded to Stillmeadows Drive and Dove Court after a juvenile male reported his scooter was stolen by a group of other juveniles. The victim’s mother located the suspects on Blue Jay Court and confronted them.

According to her statement, the juveniles pointed what appeared to be handguns at her and her son, threatening to shoot.

Police apprehended the passenger, identified as 18-year-old Jamari Antonio Johnson of Glen Burnie, who was found carrying a loaded .45 caliber Glock handgun.

A second suspect fled and was not immediately located. Officers recovered a 9mm Polymer 80 handgun with 16 rounds and an obliterated serial number from the Camry. Two other juveniles, a 14-year-old from Odenton and a 16-year-old from Hanover, were identified and arrested at the scene.
