NEW YORK — Three boys were robbed at knifepoint by a group of unidentified suspects Saturday evening on the Upper East Side, police said.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. in front of 1700 York Ave. when four individuals approached the victims — a 12-year-old, a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old — from behind. One of the suspects displayed a knife, according to police.
The group forcibly removed a pair of sneakers from the 12-year-old’s hands and took backpacks from all three boys before fleeing on foot northbound on York Avenue.
There were no injuries reported in connection with the robbery, officials confirmed.
The NYPD did not immediately release detailed descriptions of the suspects and said the investigation remains ongoing.

As of Thursday, no arrests have been made in the case. The suspects remain at large.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the department’s Crime Stoppers tip line.
The location of the incident, near East 89th Street, is a residential block with schools, parks and high pedestrian traffic.
Security footage from nearby buildings is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
No further information about the stolen property was made available.
