Tenafly man charged in child sexual abuse material case

TENAFLY, NJ – A 26-year-old man from Tenafly was arrested Friday following a Bergen County investigation that uncovered more than 100 illegal digital files depicting child sexual abuse material, prosecutors said.

The arrest of Steven K. Grossman came after a search warrant was executed at his home by members of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit.

Investigators said Grossman used the Internet to view, download, and possess explicit images of prepubescent and pubescent children.

He was taken into custody and charged with third-degree possession of child pornography.

Cyber Crimes Unit leads investigation

According to Prosecutor Mark Musella, the investigation was conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under Chief Matthew Finck. The Cyber Crimes Unit executed the search warrant as part of an ongoing effort to identify individuals sharing and storing illicit child content online.

Multi-agency cooperation

Musella credited multiple law enforcement agencies for their assistance, including the Tenafly Police Department, NYPD, and several Bergen County municipal departments that participate in the county’s Cyber Crimes Task Force.

Grossman remains in custody at the Bergen County Jail awaiting his first appearance in Superior Court in Hackensack.
