Tesla defaced with swastika and ‘Nazis’ in Brooklyn hate crime, NYPD says

BROOKLYN, NY — The NYPD is seeking the public’s help identifying two suspects in a hate crime vandalism incident after a Tesla vehicle was defaced with antisemitic symbols and messages early Thursday morning in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

According to police, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. in front of 730 Monroe Street, when two unidentified individuals allegedly carved the word “Nazis” and a swastika into the doors of a parked, unoccupied Tesla. The suspects then fled on foot in an unknown direction, authorities said.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the individuals in connection with the investigation and has urged anyone with information to come forward.

The Hate Crime Task Force is treating the incident as a bias-motivated act of criminal mischief, which carries enhanced penalties under New York law.

No injuries were reported, and the car was unoccupied at the time of the incident. It remains unclear whether the vehicle or its owner were specifically targeted.

Police did not provide a detailed description of the suspects but confirmed the investigation is ongoing.

The NYPD said, “The individuals depicted are being sought in connection to a hate crime criminal mischief incident.”
