TRENTON, NJ — Drivers in New Jersey are advised to exercise caution overnight and into Sunday as patches of thick fog and periods of rain are expected to reduce visibility and create potentially hazardous road conditions.
The National Weather Service has forecast areas of fog to develop Saturday night, with visibility likely to remain low through early Sunday morning. Overnight temperatures will dip to around 44 degrees, with calm winds and a 50% chance of precipitation.
Sunday morning will bring patchy fog before 8 a.m., followed by cloudy skies and a high near 62 degrees. Light south winds will increase to 5 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. Rain chances will remain at 40% throughout the day, with limited precipitation expected.
Conditions will worsen Sunday night as showers become likely after 7 p.m., with gusty south winds up to 25 mph and rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch. Overnight temperatures will hover around 50 degrees.
Motorists are encouraged to remain vigilant, particularly during periods of reduced visibility.
