Third suspect still at large in deadly Philadelphia shooting

PHILADELPHIA – Authorities are continuing their search for a third suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a 30-year-old man in the Juniata section of Philadelphia earlier this month.

The incident occurred shortly before 4:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, near the intersection of M Street and East Luzerne Street. According to police, the victim, Qidere Johnson, of the 1900 block of West Bristol Street, was transported to Temple University Hospital by private vehicle. He was pronounced dead at 4:56 p.m.

Following an investigation, police arrested two 19-year-old suspects: Joshua Thomas-Coleman, of the 4100 block of Greeby Street, and Abdul Boyd, of the 1600 block of Granite Street. Both have been charged with murder.

A third suspect, 21-year-old Amir Earley, also known as “Earley,” of the 4600 block of Mulberry Street, remains at large. Investigators describe him as armed and dangerous.

“The Philadelphia Police Department urges anyone with information related to this case to contact the department’s tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477),” police said.

Reward offered for information

A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for Johnson’s death.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding the motive or circumstances of the shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Police continue to request the public’s assistance in locating Earley.
