LANCASTER, Pa. — The Lancaster County Board of Elections has launched an investigation following the discovery of 2,500 fraudulent voter registration forms submitted ahead of the registration deadline. According to officials, the suspect forms were submitted in two separate batches, raising concerns about the integrity of the submissions.
“Board of Elections staff members identified & contained incidents of voter registration fraud,” the Lancaster County Elections Board said in a statement. The discovery prompted a collaboration between the board and law enforcement to further assess the situation.

The Board of Elections reported the suspicious registrations to the Lancaster County District Attorney’s office, which has since initiated an inquiry into the source and intent of the fraudulent activity. Officials are currently working to understand the nature of the submissions and to determine if any additional registrations are compromised.
“Elections staff & the district attorney’s office are currently assessing the nature and the volume of fraud,” the board added. The investigation remains in its preliminary stages, with county officials indicating that they are focused on understanding whether the incidents are isolated or part of a broader scheme.
The submission of the fraudulent registrations came just as the county approached its voter registration deadline, a time when the influx of forms typically increases. Election officials have not disclosed details on who may be responsible or how the suspect registrations were flagged, but they indicated that further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.
